GUITAR HEROES ANONYMOUS ...!

An early morning meeting at Walt Disney Studios prevented me from making my usual stop at 7th and Montana today, but -- have no fear -- Disney has its own Starbucks on the lot, specializing in its own unique cast of characters.  Take the Anonymous Guitar Hero (pictured here) who greeted me on arrival by playing an Electronic Air Guitar loudly enough to wake the dead.  Actually, he was at the studio all day today promoting a new toy called Guitar Hero which -- thanks to an "electronic pic," a "rockin' belt buckle" and a "wearable, mini-amplifier" -- allows any nincompoop to impersonate Gene Simmons whether he wants to or not.  "You have a brilliant career ahead of you," I said to the Guitarist-in-Question, half-jokingly.  "You should try playing the Starbucks at 7th and Montana ...!"

  3. Sad to say the game Guitar Hero is yet another case of a wonderful history icon being devolved into nothingness.....

Any idiot thinks they are gifted. Wherein the truth lays more along the line most are too lazy or distracted to actually learn a musical instrument , to harness something within themselves and set it free.....

God, I miss the 70's! (Hugs) Indigo

  4. Oh my gosh...not "The Hero"...I've banned it from my house.  My twelve year old has REAL drums and a REAL electric guitar (with an amp...Lord, help me) only because it's a house rule that everyone take music lessons.  Too funny, this...so...we can count on an encore at your usual stomping grounds? ;)  C.

  5. I thought of this journal while reading my Starbucks Fiscal 2007 Annual Report.  Yeah, I am one of the 3 people who read it. No mention of apple fritters or lemon pound cake wetness.
