What's purple, putrid, pustulent and a taste sensation in Japan? I'll bite. On second thought, maybe I won't. Anyone who can identify the mystery substance in my Bento Box (see Photo #1) wins a big surprise. Meanwhile, dessert, featured in Photo #2, consisted of bright pink and blue nut-filled bean paste resembling an igneous rock formation. Bon Appetit!
