FROM "OFF THE CLOCK" TO "OFF THE WALL" AT 7TH AND MONTANA ...!

Nerves were frayed at 7th and Montana this morning as a seemingly endless line snaked outside the door of Our Favorite Starbucks at 7:15 a.m.  Perhaps some of the employees took a cue from the latest Starbuck's compilation CD and went "Off The Clock."  As for me, I was very much "on the clock" -- running late for a meeting -- and left without ordering my usual Grande Half Caff.  I returned, nearly 12 hours later, to find the Notorious Scribbler still seated at his barstool, writing sweet nothings in his closely guarded notebook.  Rumor has it he's writing the Great American Novel in a secret code inspired by Leonardo da Vinci, but I think he's merely Off the Clock ...!

I would rather have full caff at half the size.  LITE coffee is like skim milk to me.  I can't enjoy it. And yes, I can tell.  ~ Mary

I tried to hear "Off the Clock" but it was taking too long to load. I'll have to try a different browser, I guess. Half the caffeine sounds ike a good idea to me. I get twitchy on coffee. --Cin

Oh, and just immagine if your scribbler is sitting just, you know, off the wall, under an off clock!...No!...well it was funnier before I wrote it down...lol...Gosh, don't you just love the"types" . You know the people who just go about their way unconserned with what kind of impression they make...Totaly uninhibited, like say for example, a woman in an airport , ON! Starbucks even, waiting for ..?..whatever,  her flight, her mates return, even the baby she's holdings mother to arrive maybe... but their she sits, slightly rocking too and frou softly singing or humming to this little center of her attention. Or the old guy attempting to read his paper not far from this humming stranger. He keeps crossing and re crossing his legs...a deep sigh with each crossing...a glance in her direction...snaps the paper slightly and shifts in his chair, foot is now impatiantly being wiggled, sighs again looking down his nose through his half glass reading specks... but now his foot is keeping time with her tune and he snaps his paper again, but  with an unconsious affort to do so less harsh and more slowly...Yes If I were your scribbler, that's the sort of things I'd be making notes about in that note book If he were I...or vise-a-versa...what do ya think?

I often wonder what people who scribble in a notebook are scribbling about!!  They'll look up, look around, scribble, scribble...kinda makes me nervous!!  How about "off the wall"??
