KIDS FIRST AT 7TH AND MONTANA ...!

It was Many Happy Returns this morning at 7th and Montana as Marlene made the scene, fresh from New York and bursting with good news.  Her independent video -- "Plus" -- an amusing, behind-the-scenes look at the world of "Plus-Sized" models, has been nominated for a Kids First Award.  Apparently, competition in the world of Plus-Sized models has become so fierce that women have taken to wearing "padding" to get business.  As for Marlene, she won't have that problem for a while:  She's expecting her first child in February ...!

Awwww that is awesome!! I will have to check out that video. I believe we need more of her kind in Hollywood and hopefully reduce some false expectations for these young girls who starve themselves as a means to make it in the world of modeling and celebs. I wish people could just have more acceptance and less judgment. We all have flaws, problem areas and even comfortable love handles that are more than ok as that is what makes us human. I get so nerved when media will get shots of celebs at the beach and show the world a celebs inperfections. Like they aren't suppose to be human. And then they wonder why girls like Nicole Ritchie have eating disorders. She is in the public eye and probably fears like mad someone out there will get a shot of her poochie tummy or not so tight bottom and even most womens battles cellulite...hmmmm...oh don't even get me started, hehehe...smiles...

I thought the plus size models were looking thinner now than they were a few years ago.  I guess not if they have to pad.  Can't they just eat more Starbucks Lemon Pound Cake?

Its about time the fashion world realizes that we're not all size 0's.  However, some of those plus sized women are super sized, and I'd rather just not look.  Thats just me.
