PEACE, LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS ... AT 7TH AND MONTANA!
The Spirit of Friendship filled the air this morning at 7th and Montana as a group of local kids set-up a card table on 7th Street and began selling Friendship Bracelets to passersby. Apparently, the kids are Budding Entrepreneurs: They make bracelets out of colorful strands of yarn and sell them for $1 a piece to earn some extra spending money. I bought five, one for everyone at our table, knowing we could all use a little Booster Shot of Brotherly Love every now and then. The bracelets worked like a charm ... for about five minutes. "That's how it all starts," quipped Joyce, "One day they're selling Friendship Bracelets, the next they're selling Drugs." "Look," cried Richard, gesturing towards an Extremely Fat Man teetering on a Moped, "There's a Photo Opportunity for You!" I quickly forgot about the Friendship Bracelets and whipped out my Camera Phone, marveling at how the Fat Man barely fit behind the handlebars. I guess laughing at Life's Little Absurdities is part of what makes us tick. Or, as Richard might say, "It's where the Blubber meets the Road ...!"

The last time I was at brotherly love aka Philly , I got a Booster shot and there was no love in that.
I'd like one of those bracelets! Do you think they'll be there tomorrow? Hmmm...perhaps the lizzie would like one, too :)~
Was there any group hugging going on?
Some little girl knocked on my door yesterday telling me she was selling posters for a quarter. I squinted at it and said 'Well what does it say?' She said "It says 'It's a boy!" I chuckled and said "Wellll....maybe if it said 'girl' but I don't really have any little boys to announce..."

I think it was a grand idea for the kids to be earning their spending money. So many these days just hold out their hand and expect something for nothing. (Hugs)Indigo
I'm glad to see one of those boys was flying the flag!
Gaz ;-)
