It was like a scene from High School Musical: The Caffeinated Years at 7th and Montana this morning as a gaggle of giggling cheerleaders descended upon Our Favorite Starbucks. "Where do they think they are?" I wondered, as they ordered their morning cappuccinos and lattes, "St. Folgers Academy for Wayward Girls?" Seriously, since when has a trip to Starbucks become the "in" thing for teens on their way to school? What next, Happy Hour as an Extracurricular Activity?!?

SAVE THE CHEERLEADER ... AT 7TH AND MONTANA!

In taking a closer look, those gals don't look quite so high school. Unless they've been repeating their junior year for about 10 years!!

I've been at Starbucks in the mornings when gaggles of school girls come in to get their caffeine fix. Its not cheap...can't they make their latte's at home??
Back at the dawn of time, I used to live down the street from a Catholic girl's high school. All these nubile young things in thigh-high plaid skirts (the school uniform) would stop in at the corner Winchell's at 7:45 for coffee and a donut, go out on the sidewalk for a smoke, and then head inside for seven hours of Holy Roman Education.
They didn't look a lot different than these girls, thigh muscles and all.
Maybe they heard about your blog and wanted to have their 15 seconds of fame?
That Garnett cracks me up with his comments. But, I do agree with Beth that the gals look a bit older than high school girls but in todays day and age...one never knows and they grow up way too fast.........and look much older.

They don't look like school girls, unless of course this past generation has aged considerably overnight. I know they're alot bigger than I remember when I was in school. Now that I think of most kids outgrew me after I turned 12...(Hugs)Indigo
